Together we will
make a difference
At Nowocoat, sustainability is an integral part of how we do business. Our efforts are guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and we are certified in Goals 3, 8, and 12.
These goals reflect the areas where we can make the greatest impact in our day-to-day operations. As a chemical manufacturing company, we have a particular responsibility to ensure safe and responsible conditions for both people and the environment across our entire value chain—from development and production to the use of our products. In practice, this means responsible chemical management, prioritising employee health and safety, and reducing the environmental impact of our products throughout their lifecycle.
How we work with the Sustainable Development Goals
We have chosen to focus on UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 8, and 12, as they are closely linked to our production, our employees, and our responsibility across the value chain.
Our work with the SDGs is integrated into our ISO-certified management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 28000). Within these frameworks, we systematically drive improvements through ESG reporting, internal and external audits, and clearly defined targets that we continuously monitor and report on.
We focus in particular on the following targets:
- Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being: Target 3.9 – reducing health and environmental impacts from chemicals.
- Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: Targets 8.3, 8.7, and 8.8 – responsible working conditions, safety, and sustainable economic development.
- Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production: Targets 12.4, 12.5, and 12.6 – responsible management of chemicals, waste reduction, and sustainability reporting.
Below, you can read more about our work with these three goals, as well as our latest results and targets for 2026.

- Ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with procedures
- Training employees in the handling of chemicals and waste
- Monitoring and reporting our consumption of chemicals
Results from 2025
- Monitoring energy consumption in production, with a focus on electricity and heating
- Preparation of an ESG report
- Maintenance of the EU Ecolabel and the Nordic Swan Ecolabel
Targets for 2026
- Reduce energy consumption by 5% per litre produced compared to 2025
